Let's talk salary. The annual salary range for this position is $135,000 and goes up to $155,000, based on qualifications and what we are asking you to do in this role. We'd like to start somewhere in that ballpark and go from there. So, you want to work from home? Let's be honest, remote work is not always all it's cut out to be. At G2 Ops, we offer a flexible schedule to meet the needs of our employees and customers. As a Defense Contractor, we are frequently working with sensitive material, and therefore, we need to ensure where you access your work is secure. Due to the classification level of the projects, we support, we are not able to offer fully remote opportunities at this time. This role will provide you with the opportunity to work at a customer-site with our customers (this is a good thing!) approximately four (4) days each week. You will have a shiny desk at one of our G2 Ops offices, and th ere is some flexibility to work remotely one (1) day per week with prior approvals. Better yet, you could potentially create a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.
Still not convinced? Allow us to elaborate. For this opportunity, we are seeking a highly motivated, team-oriented Principal Systems Engineer (Mid to Senior level) to join our team. This position offers a great opportunity to work onsite with customers who are influencing current and future decisions of our Submarine Shore Communication Systems programs. As a G2 Ops subject matter expert, you will act as a liaison between the program office and its in-service engineering agent to provide systems engineering support on current and new communications technologies supporting Systems Engineering working groups and submarine shore communications modernization efforts. This will be a versatile role that will be expected to build relationships and maintain communications between stakeholders. The responsibilities include managing a portfolio of complex and high visibility systems engineering projects, including technical and quality control oversight.
The Principal Systems Engineer will prepare reports for upper management as required and ensure program requirements are not only being met but communicated between customers.
To be successful in this role, you should have at least eight (8) years of relevant professional experience with systems engineering projects for US Navy programs. We have the desire for someone with previous submarine technology experience who understands submarine communications. You must be able to communicate clearly with stakeholders and engineering leadership teams to ensure requirements are clearly defined and Customer expectations are being met. The ability to analyze new and complex program-related problems and create innovative solutions that integrate schedule, technology, methodology, tools, and financial aspects are also critical components to this position.
We require someone with a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (while a technical degree in Computer Science, System Engineering, Information Systems is preferred, we welcome those with Business Management degrees as well).
Next, as we are working for the DOD, we are beholden to some requirements. The ideal candidate would already possess an active DOD Top Secret Clearance, with the ability to obtain TS/SCI without issue. A Secret clearance is required, at time of hire, at a minimum.
