The Ritz-Carlton, Vienna is looking for a Lady or Gentlemen for the position of:

Manager on Duty

As the Manager on Duty (MOD), you are responsible for overseeing all hotel operations focusing on the late shift to ensure a seamless and luxurious guest experience. You will serve as the primary point of contact for both guests and our Ladies and Gentlemen, providing leadership, resolving guest concerns and opportunities, while maintaining the highest standards of The Ritz-Carlton.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guest Experience Management: ensure all guests receive outstanding service and assistance, addressing and resolving any issues or complaints promptly and effectively.

  • Operational Supervision: oversee hotel operations to ensure all areas run efficiently during the late shift

  • Leadership: lead and supervise our Ladies and Gentlemen of the Front of House Team, ensuring adherence to hotel policies and maintaining a positive, collaborative work environment. Provide guidance, training and support to ensure performance meets The Ritz-Carlton standards

  • Problem Resolution: ability to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally while maintaining all The Ritz-Carlton standards

  • Administrative Duties: complete daily reports on operational performance, guest feedback and incidents

  • Safety & Security: together with our Loss Prevention Department, monitor the safety and security of the hotel, addressing any emergencies that arise and ensure safety standards are met

  • Communication: maintain clear and effective communication with all hotel departments to ensure smooth operations and seamless handoff between shifts

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in hotel operations, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a luxury hotel setting

  • Strong understanding of hotel operations, including Front of House, Food & Beverage, and Loss Prevention

  • Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to remain calm under pressure

  • Proven ability to provide outstanding guest service and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner

  • Flexibility to work mainly late shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed

  • A passion for hospitality and a commitment to delivering an exceptional guest experience

  • Proficient in Opera and Microsoft Office Suite
