As the Senior Procurement Specialist (Buyer), you will be the primary point of contact for a key supplier within the electronics commodity, managing schedules and purchase orders to guarantee timely, cost-effective, and quality deliveries. Your role will involve direct engagement with suppliers to resolve delivery issues, meticulous record-keeping of procurement activities, and constant monitoring of contract performance to ensure compliance. What YOU Will Do:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the relationship with a specific supplier within the electronics commodity

  • Directs and manages all schedules, and purchase orders for the client account or the product family

  • Ensures product is delivered on time, meets quality standards, and at the right cost. May perform delivery assurance responsibilities

  • Carries out processes and standards in support of Procurement, including RFPs, negotiations, cost accountability, program execution

  • Prepares purchase orders and payment approvals to ensure the procurement process goes smoothly

  • Responds to client inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations to ensure customer satisfaction

  • Works with buyers in activities associated with purchasing goods, materials, supplies, and services

  • Contacts suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries to ensure resolution of problems such as shortages and missed or late deliveries

  • Compiles records of items purchased, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories, analyzes data and ensures account needs are met

  • Monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations

  • And other related duties as needed per direction from leadership

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization

  • Project coordination / management experience

  • Experience working with ERP systems (e.g. SAP)

  • Proficient in MS Office skills

  • Experience working in a cross-functional team, such as including members from operations/production, technical/engineering groups, finance departments, etc

  • Detail oriented with ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to define problems, to collect data, to establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

  • Ability to become a go-to subject matter expert for transactional buyers

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
