Position Description: The Cost Accountant / Inventory Analyst is responsible for performing all functions of the standard cost system and provides analysis of item costing and inventory transactions. This position also provides continuous review of procedures and records to assure that inventories and associated financial transactions are properly recorded & valued. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist the Controller with daily KPI reporting and provide data and reports on a timely basis. Assist the Controller with Annual Operating Plan (AOP) preparation with respect to Inventory and Direct Supply costs. Perform variance reconciliations with Purchases of Materials & Inventory. Assure relevant costs are properly factored in sales pricing & margins. Ensure integrity of the systems Inventory costs. Analyze variances and identify and resolve discrepancies. Provide interpretation of manufacturing performance against operating benchmarks, standards, and targets. Explaining significant deviations. Develop techniques to educate plant management personnel in the use of cost data in effective decision making. Work Continuous Improvement ideas related to inventory management. Provide costing & analysis of cycle counts & annual physical inventories to obtain 97% accuracy. Lead for the Physical Inventory. Schedule & Lead Cycle Counts activity. Travel to outside processors as needed to review /audit inventory issues. First point of contact for Inventory issues on the floor as a main point of support for operations, materials & shipping for Inventory Control Train all users in the ERP system with respect to those who could change inventory transactions. i.e. production, scrap reporting. Supervisory Responsibilities None Qualifications: Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; prefer 3 to 5 years of financial experience in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing environment. Skills and Abilities Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing at all levels of the organization Excellent organizational skills. Strong understanding of general accounting principles. Ability to analyze data and strong mathematical ability Ability to establish priorities and multi-task Proficient in Microsoft
