Director for Marketing and Communications Full-time, 12 Months, Benefited Position Number: 00010580 Internal/External

Position Description: The VCSU Director for Marketing and Communications position reports to the president and has primary responsibility for managing the university's marketing and communications. The director shapes institutional messaging for both external and internal audiences, and helps promote the university to prospective students, alumni, and friends of the university. This positionsupervises the marketing and communications office, including the graphic designer, webcontent specialist, digital content specialist and print shop assistant. Split-productsinclude content on the www.vcsu.edu website and print and digital materials, includingthe Bulletin,and the VCSU alumni magazine. The Director serves as a member of the President's Cabinetand Emergency Management Team and chairs the University Marketing Committee.

Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field and five years of directly related work experience, prior supervisory experience, experience in higher education or corporate communication, high-level written and oral communication skills, project management skills and experience with Microsoft Teams, AP Style, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Officeapplications are required.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in communications, marketing, or other related field, experience managing graphic standards and maintaining a consistent brand. Experience handling public relations and communication with all entities.

Compensation: $60,000 - $70,000 annually and is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
