Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant I maintains department patient care supplies, ensures timely flow of patients, and assists physicians and nurses to provide optimal care to patients and families.
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS None Specified CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS Basic Life Support (BLS). Successful completion of medical terminology course within six (6) months of start date in position. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS None Specified SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Capacity to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures. Demonstrates compassion and caring in dealing with others.
Essential Functions:
Perform a variety of routine direct patient care duties to assist medical and nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients.
Maintains patient care environment and supplies to ensure patient privacy and safety.
Provides Medical Assistant support to Sleep Clinic physician practice.
Provides a basic level of direct care as defined by Sleep Clinic, such as obtaining vitals and performing medication reconciliation during routine patient work-up.
Assist with communication flow and triage within the Sleep Clinic.
Works with nurses and providers to ensure optimal patient care and timely flow of patients.
May provide Patient Service Representative (PSR) duties and support in the Sleep Clinic, as well.
