Job Summary
Under direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), and Managing Director (MD), the Coordinator of Research Programs will manage all administrative, research, editorial and development activities for the MML and Burke Laboratory. Coordinator of Research Programs
Duties & Responsibilities
Business Administration:
- Manage complex portfolio of faculty funds, including analyzing monthly financial statements to determine compliance with budgetary and technical requirements of the university system and granting agencies.
- Coordinate personnel management processes for group members, including undergraduate, graduate and visiting students as well as postdoctoral researchers. For new members, assist with visas and hiring paperwork and manage programmatic and equipment access. Manage records of group vacation/sick days and submit approval by proxy. For departing members, provide referral to HR coordinator, update contact information, obtain and file inventory of research materials and schedule final meetings with the Principal Investigator.
Research Administration:
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of research grant proposals to various granting agencies. Plan and coordinate financial and scientific reports to campus offices and federal agencies.
- Manage the research resources of the laboratories, including managing all purchase re-quests, assisting Principal Investigator and Managing Director in the oversight of research activities, handling all research correspondence, managing all organizational tasks relative to the research programs, overseeing monthly group progress reports, tracking productivity and scheduling monthly meetings.
- Assist Principal Investigator and Managing Director in ensuring compliance for all safety training and laboratory safety audits. Interface with Facilities & Services to address all maintenance issues with laboratory infrastructure (air handling, plumbing and electrical). Coordinate service and maintenance of all laboratory equipment with various manufacturers and service organizations. Coordinate specialized equipment training as needed.
Specialty Factors
- Bachelor\'s degree in business administration, management, or a field related to the position.
- A total of two (2) years (24 months) of work experience in the area of accounting, managerial and/or business.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of database concepts and budget analysis, as well as proficiency in word processing programs, website templates, spreadsheet operation and presentation software.
- High level of initiative and judgment, excellent communication, problem-solving and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
- Ability to work efficiently by multitasking with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational skills.

Appointment Information
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5002 - Program Coordinator position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the posting period closes. The salary range for this position is \$50,000-\$65,000 per year. Final salary offered will be determined by a thorough assessment of available market d ta, internal salary equity, candidate experience and qualifications, collective bargaining agreements and budget constraints.
