Lockheed Martin F-22 Aircraft Sheetmetal/LO Technician (T3 SAS) in Tyndall AFB, Florida

Description: This position will be located at Tyndall AFB, Florida, supporting the F-22 modification, repair, overhaul, and low observable aircraft production line. This position requires manual application of technology coatings to produce aircraft parts and assemblies with low observable characteristics.

Read and interpret engineering and manufacturing process specifications and plan sequence of operations for finish applications on low observable aircraft. Determine methods, tooling, operations, and sequences necessary to apply, rework or repair aircraft coatings and finishes to meet special requirements. Performs preliminary process preparations such as removing/installing panels. Mix chemicals to specified proportions, working to exact tolerances, applying coatings to specified thicknesses and surface texture. Knowledge of race track procedures, gap filling, blend steps and mask layouts in accordance with prints, process specifications or verbal instructions.

Tests and measures various coatings on aircraft parts and coupons to ensure thickness compliance per drawing and specifications. Interpret prints to cut raw-stock material and taper edges. Replace worn/damaged coatings.

Structural repair experience to acurately drill, cut, ream, countersink, or counterbore, aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, kevlar and graphite composite structure. Proficient in shop math. Can layout a rivet pattern with proper spacing and edge distance. Experienced with an array of specialty fasteners such as eddie bolts, huck bolts, blind and solid rivets, ect.

Possess the ability to work with a variety of people from different backgrounds and cultures.

Must be very safety conscious, well versed with Hazmat, supply discipline, FOD and tool control.

Basic Qualifications:

This position requires an active Secret Security Clearance or be able to obtain one from the Dept of Defense. Be a US Citizen (This position is located at a facility requiring special access). Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, work from ladders/stands, on top of aircraft as well as working in different positions (Standing, stooping, on knees, squating, twisting and crawling). Have a minimum of 2 years of low observable coating experience, able to work in confined spaces and able to be respirator qualified. Experienced on strucural tooling such as rivet guns, rivet sets, drills, huck guns, shears, paint guns and rigs. Experienced in the use of micrometers, calipers and measuring gauges as well as all common tooling. Ability to properly grip fastener holes to determine size, length and style of required fasteners.

Desired Skills:

5th Generation Aircraft Sheetmetal and Low Observable exp. Have basic knowledge of paint guns, rivet guns, hucks, blind rivets and experience working with composite material for repairs.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: Standard Monday to Friday 40 hour work week
