Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician (Tuscaloosa, AL)
Job Description
This position involves traveling 500-2000 miles a week to various commercial outlet stores within the region to perform and complete maintenance work orders. The maintenance tasks include painting, plumbing, electrical work, masonry, cleaning, welding, drywall, and working with locks. The candidate must possess strong communication skills to interact with customers and the technical expertise to complete work orders independently. Although the candidate will primarily work alone, they can call for assistance on specific projects.
Responsibilities
Drive 500-2000 miles weekly to commercial outlet stores to perform maintenance tasks.
Perform electrical maintenance, including troubleshooting light poles, changing breakers, installing new circuits, soldering, and changing out water heaters.
Handle plumbing tasks such as drain cleaning, and replacing toilets, sinks, and faucets.
Execute painting tasks, including touch-ups and using spray guns.
Conduct drywall installation and finishing, including Level 5 finishes.
Perform masonry work, including brick and stone stacking and pasting.
Execute welding tasks for gate hinges or fencing on properties using MIG, stick, or spot welding.
Manage lock-related tasks, including working with both residential and commercial padlocks and electrical locks.
Log hours, document work, and communicate via the internal system using the ADP app.
Drive a work van, SUV, or truck to carry tools and equipment necessary for the job.
Essential Skills
5+ years of commercial electrical experience, including low voltage work.
5+ years of residential/commercial plumbing experience.
Experience with painting, including the use of hand brushes and spray guns.
Proficiency in drywall hanging and finishing with Level 5 capabilities.
Experience in masonry work with bricks and stones.
Welding experience, including MIG, stick, and spot welding.
Experience with residential and commercial locks.
Proficiency in using a smartphone app for logging hours and documenting work.
Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
Ability to drive 500-2000 miles a week using a personal vehicle.

Hand tools required: Angle Grinder, Tape Measure, Multimeter, Channel Locks, Circular Saw, Drywall Tools, Claw/Sledge Hammers, Crescent Wrenches, Sander, Impact Driver, Speed Square, Receptacle Tester, Needle Nose Pliers, Socket/Ratchet Set, Saws, Reciprocating Saw, Drill/Driver, Levels, Non-contact Voltage Tester, Lineman Pliers, Oscillating Saw, Battery Power Tools.
PPE recommended: Steel-toed boots.
PPE provided as needed: Mask, Respirator, Harness, Goggles, Gloves.

Work Environment
The work shift is from 7am to 6pm, Monday through Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break. Saturday work is voluntary if there is a backlog. Expect to work 10-20 hours of overtime weekly. Initial training lasts for five days. The work involves a mix of indoor and outdoor tasks, visiting 3-8 clients daily, with 90%-95% of the work performed individually. Communication with store managers or client managers is required to discuss ongoing work. Hours and work orders are logged using an internal database. The role involves significant travel, driving 500-2000 miles weekly using a personal vehicle.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
