Material Service Operations Specialist

3^rd^ Shift

Position Summary:  Lead the Material Service Associates to complete the day's work in a safe, quality-minded and efficient manner. Communicate across departments to plan, organize, and monitor shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution of all items produced or received either from suppliers or production shops, and report issues and information to the Material Services Supervisor/Manager. This position requires integrity and commitment to safety, communication, leadership, quality, organization, planning, training, accountability and self-discipline. Material Service Operations Specialists are expected to be a leader in collaboration, problem solving and associate development.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand, support, lead safety and quality initiatives, monitor that all safety and quality guidelines are followed.

  • Prioritize housekeeping and ensure associates understand how housekeeping and the lack of housekeeping impact safety, quality, and efficiency.

  • Understand daily production needs and work with Production Control and Production. Follow up on needed child parts for the production lines.

  • Plan and coordinate daily work assignments, train and motivate, monitor and provide associates with all needed supplies, tools, parts, bins, etc. to complete their daily work.

  • Accurately perform shipping and receiving duties.

    • Supports MS Shipping Specialist for daily load scheduling and releasing. 
    • Monitor, track and control customer packaging/dunnage/racks for optimal levels.
    • Coordinate transactions between F&P America Facilities and generate all required shipping documents both domestic and international.
    • Ensure accurate reports. Resolve discrepancies with MS Supervisor/Manager regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver reports.
    • Enter correct information in to computer systems, to acknowledge receipt of goods.
  • Report defective materials or questionable conditions to MS Supervisor/Manager.

  • Communication with appropriate departments when issues are found.

  • Coordinate with Supervisor/Manager to ensure all jobs are completed in a timely manner.

  • Work in any capacity needed to support other associates as needed to cover business needs (fill in for absenteeism, cover lunches as business need dictates).

```{=html} ``` - Understand and support inventory management by ensuring accuracy of material movement and scanning, area audits, FIFO, and cycle counting. - Learn all aspects of the Material Services Department. - Other duties as assigned. **Qualifications:**

  • Follows all safety requirements of the company -- (including PPE -hat, glasses, steel-toed boots, uniform, hearing protection, gloves, etc.) safe job behaviors, etc.
  • Excellent work and attendance record with the company.

``` - Must support and maintain high level of confidentiality. - Forklift certified, (required learn the trailer yard and high bay). - Knowledge of shipping, receiving, line support, production (stamping, welding, assembly) areas. - Effective verbal and written communication skills. - Able to lift up to 50 lbs. - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software is desired, (willing to learn). - Experience with UPS/FEDEX online software is desirable. - EXCELLENT in providing Service.
