To learn more, please click on the link here: http://www.lgnewsroom.com/2020/12/lg-and-magna-enter-joint-venture-agreement-to-expand-in-powertrain-electrification-market/ Overall Responsibilities: Our Development Engineer position is a collaborative and highly impactful role that will be responsible for the coordination of emerging technology research with academic partners while supporting development of existing EV programs. A successful candidate will be an ambitious, self-driven and, results-oriented engineer for our power electronic modules and components for EV vehicle development. The major tasks are shown below: Select and facilitate long term research projects with academic partners to improve access to emerging technologies Perform advanced development activities of power electronic components for existing products and future technologies. Act as the main point of contact for technical issues between our customers and global HQ including participating in, facilitating or leading PDT reviews. Providing status reports to customers, suppliers and internal groups, as requested. Includes participating in DFMEA reviews to ensure key milestones are met. Support Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (perform diagnostic activities) for Issues over the life of a program Working with customer, supplier partners and internal staff to prepare designs. Develop and ensure adherence to engineering and design standards, policies and procedures. Develop or use computer software and hardware to conduct tests on electro-mechanical products and systems. Assist planning and sales to ensure current and accurate costing. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, other related technical discipline Minimum of 3 years of experience of development engineering in the automotive industry Experience of electrical tests and simulation tools (LT spice, Matlab) Working level knowledge of DFMEA Technical expertise in Inverter, OBCM, APM components and processes Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) Ability to interpret and create electrical schematics Ability to travel up to 10% for to customer sites and for business meetings is required Ability to use independent judgment and exercise discretion while performing job tasks. Preferred and Desired Qualifications: Prior experience with an Electric Vehicle (EV) Tier 1 supplier is preferred Understanding of power electronics (Inverter and Converter) and power device(Si IGBT, SiC MOSFET) preferred System Level Understanding of Power Electronics components with electrical interfaces. Technical expertise in Inverter, OBCM, APM, Battery and processes Ability to be Self-driven, results oriented with a strong sense of initiative in tackling complex tasks Ability to learn quickly with the willingness and flexibility to learn and adapt to company working culture and processes Excellent written / verbal communication and organizational skills Ability to understand customer needs and to probe for answers, and then determine a solution and advocate that solution to the customer Ability to work with customers and internal stakeholders and make sure all deliverables are met Capacity to identify risks and raise issues to relevant stakeholders Superior attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and to maintain deadlines Knowledge of OEM process and requirements Skill in MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint,
