Kimber Mfg., Inc. Facility & Maintenance Manager in Troy, Alabama
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Facility & Maintenance Manager is a key factory staff member responsible for directing, inspecting, and maintaining programs and processes that support the facility and maintenance department within Kimber Manufacturing. The Facility & Maintenance Manager will work in concert with cross-functional teams and other departments to provide support in achieving facility and maintenance goals defined and established by upper management.
The Facility & Maintenance Manager will supervise and assist in the completion of the day-to-day activities involving the maintenance of equipment and machinery to include: CNC milling and turning machines, grinders, and general machine shop equipment. This position will supervise contractors performing electrical and mechanical diagnostics outside of the skill level of internal personnel. The Facility & Maintenance Manager will further develop internal competency to reduce contracted repairs and speed repair processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure and enhance safety protocols pertaining to all maintenance related activities and personnel
Oversight of daily work schedules, assigned work, and oversee the work product while minimizing overtime and call-in hours
Drive the development of standard work, setup sheets, and standard operations for maintenance jobs
Optimize schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities based upon work priority, quantity of equipment, and skillset
Work closely with the Reliability Engineer to develop Preventive Maintenance Schedule program for applicable equipment and machinery
Plan, schedule, and execute contracted and in-house preventive maintenance for production and facilities equipment while coordinating with manufacturing production schedules
Develop, implement, and evaluate maintenance policies and procedures
Prepare budgets and secure estimates and cost quotes as needed
Perform continuous analysis of maintenance activity to ensure meeting management guidelines
Conduct, record, and track daily shipping and receiving activity
Monitor transfers of equipment and machinery internally and externally
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (word and excel)
Accurately make independent decisions on product disposition
Trouble shoot various problems and develop corrective action to prevent reoccurrence
Adhere and monitor SOP
Perform other related duties as assigned
MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has management responsibilities including:
Direct management of Facility Supervisor and Maintenance Supervisor regarding their daily activities, assignments, schedules, and adherence to company policies
Provide leadership for employee relation through effective communication, coaching, training, and development
Detail and implement long-term direct reports/organization plan to increase overall department responsiveness
Ensure the staff is properly trained for their assigned tasks
Execute performance reviews and disciplinary action as required
QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrable knowledge of mechanical and electrical repair abilities in a machine shop environment
Ability to interface with all types of mechanical and construction contractors
Knowledge of firearms; quality, features, safety, etc. is a plus
Demonstrable track record of 10 years of successfully working in a high-volume manufacturing environment with a minimum of 5 years of leading and managing in a machine shop environment or similar manufacturing facility.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Cross functional team builder/player with high levels of professionalism, integrity, and enthusiasm
Must be able to work accurately and efficiently in a fast work environment that has the potential to change due to regulatory and business needs
Detail oriented and highly organized with the ability to multi-task
Experience working independently with little supervision
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Required:
High School Diploma or GED
Vocational/Technical Degree
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a manufacturing setting
Computer/Software proficiency
Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, or related field
CNC Maintenance background
3 years minimum Maintenance Management Experience

COMPUTER SKILLS
Required knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word using MS Windows platform. MS PowerPoint and Outlook.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position may require travel occasionally.
