Alpha Shredding Group Inc. General & Operations Manager in Trenton, New Jersey
Manage & coordinate all aspects of scrap yard operations, including receiving, sorting, processing, and shipping scrap metal materials. Maintain overall operations and improvement of the department. Develop strategic plans by studying technological opportunities. Implement effective recycling and waste removal collection programs. Drive programs that minimizeoperational expenses while maximizing revenue generation. Prepare proposals for equipment purchases and facility development. Ensure efficient and safe handling of scrap metalmaterials, managing a team of warehouse and yard workers, and implementing process improvements to optimize productivity and profitability. Oversee the operation and maintenance of equipment such as a mobile crane, overhead crane, forklift, baler machine and OTR CDL-required transportation equipment (tractors & trailers). Ensure compliance with safety regulations (OSHA) and environmental (EPA and similar requirements. Develop and implement operational procedures to improve efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. Coordinate with sales and procurement teams to meet customer demands and optimize inventory levels. Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to track operational performance and identify areas for improvement. Manage relationships with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. Prepare reports and presentations for senior management, summarizing operational performance, trends, and forecasts. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements: Bachelor in business, management, production engineering or industrial engineering.
