The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to join our IT M&A Strategy team. The successful candidate will play a critical supporting role in the due diligence phase, focusing on financial controls and setting and tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for IT M&A activities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in building compelling presentations and translating complex data into actionable insights for executive stakeholders.

What you can expect to do here:

  • Due Diligence Support

  • Perform detailed analysis of the organizational structure of the target company, including roles, responsibilities, and retention risks for key IT personnel.

  • Apply in-depth knowledge to identify potential cost synergies and savings opportunities.

  • Review the target company's IT budget, current expenditures, and future financial commitments to ensure alignment with WSP business objectives.

  • Coordinate due diligence across multiple workstreams, making decisions on moderately complex issues to ensure a comprehensive risk and integration analysis.

  • Data Analysis and Insights

  • Analyze IT M&A performance data to aid in strategic decision-making.

  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities, applying advanced concepts to develop actionable insights and recommendations that will optimize IT integration processes.

  • Financial Oversight and Controls

  • Support management of the IT M&A budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals and constraints. Conduct detailed cost analysis to control expenses.

  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, highlighting key financial metrics and insights.

  • Implement and maintain robust financial controls to ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Support internal and external audits related to IT M&A activities, ensuring transparency and accountability.

  • KPI Development and Tracking

  • Support the development and monitoring of KPIs related to IT M&A activities.

  • Analyze KPI data to assess the effectiveness of IT integration and identify areas for improvement.

  • Provide regular KPI reports and dashboards to senior management. Independently improving KPI tracking methodologies and reporting processes.

  • Presentation and Reporting

  • Develop High-Impact Presentations :

  • Create high-quality presentations that effectively communicate complex data and strategic insights to executive stakeholders.

  • Ensure presentations are visually engaging, concise, and tailored to the audience’s needs.

  • Transform Data into Visual Insights:

  • Translate complex data sets and analysis into clear, compelling visual formats, including charts, graphs, and infographics.

  • Use storytelling techniques to present data in a way that highlights key insights and supports strategic recommendations.

  • Strategic Support

  • Support the development and execution of IT M&A strategies and plans.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of IT M&A activities with overall business objectives.

  • Prepare strategic documents, reports, and proposals.

  • Determine methods and approaches to work/projects and establish own work priorities to meet objectives.

  • Continuous Improvement

  • Continuously improve KPI tracking methodologies and reporting processes.

  • Stay updated on industry best practices and trends in IT M&A.

  • Independently resolve most issues and complex matters, requiring advanced analytical skill, training, and/or education. Proactively address problems within the scope of responsibility.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance or a related field.

  • Proven experience in an IT M&A role, with a strong focus on; KPI development/tracking, financial modeling and strategy.

  • Certification as: Business Analyst (CBAP), Project Management (PMP), or M&A (CMAP) considered as asset.

  • Exceptional skills in creating and delivering high-impact presentations.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, Power BI,).

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with M&A integration projects in a large, global organization.

  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and applications.

  • Familiarity with project management methodologies.
