TEKsystems Associate - Deposit/Payment Operations in Toronto, Ontario
Our client, a Big 5 bank in Canada, is currently looking for a Banking Operations Associate to join their team in Toronto, ON! If you have middle or back office banking experience handling administrative functions, this may be the role for you!
The candidate would be joining 7 person team. Team focuses on reconciliations. Any shared cash/point of sale service request. They reconcile and balance internal accounts. They complete operational daily processes. They will also deal with escalations and investigations. They are going to deal with debit and credit accounts. It's an operations team, SLA driven.
Work is assigned to each person. Each person has their own desk they are assigned to do work. They also get cross trained on 2-3 different desks. Bulk of the work is processing transactions, reconciling GL's, and investigating transactions.
This team is strictly debit cards.
Measuring performance: They have productivity ratios they track daily / and monthly. Make sure work is done, make sure accuracy is good, make sure data is correct. The TM and ATM also review work as it's bee submitted. They also want to see someone take initiative. Are you leading huddles, participating with the team. Accuracy, SLAs, prioritization of tasks, time management, are really important.
Qualifications
1) Banking Operations Experience (1 year plus of experience)
2) Understanding /exposure of debit / credits/ suspense accounts/ GL/accounting.
3) Strong data entry skills
4) MS Office (Outlook, teams, Excel: Pivot tables, basic macros, VLookup).
Nice to have:
1) Reconciliation experience
2) Booking keeping experience
3) Accounting knowledge
Education:
1) Post-secondary degree or diploma within accounting/ finance.
