Purpose of Role:

The eCommerce Manager will lead the development and execution of our e-commerce strategy, developing strong relationships with marketplaces and retailers to build targeted growth plans, activate our brands digitally and assess the data to measure results and contribute to broader channel and category insights.

This role will work closely with our marketing, customer marketing brands teams as well as the Sales Teams to develop solutions for this important channel, and work with our Diageo sales teams and broker partners to build lasting partnerships with our customers.

Responsibility:

  • This role is accountable for developing and imbedding our e-commerce strategy within Diageo and support the sell-in of e-commerce plans with our key retail partners. This role will coach our brand and customer marketing teams, to ensure we are creating omni channel programming to deliver against brand and customer volume growth plans. The E-Commerce Manager will serve as the expert for our sales teams with customers to assist in the development and implementation of programming. In addition, this role will analyze business performance within the channel, and build out insights related to consumer trends in digital and ecommerce through the collection and interpretation data where available. This is done in a hybrid working environment with 3 days a week in the Toronto office.

Key Outputs and Results:

  • Implement and shape omnichannel/ecommerce strategies, fundamentals, and programs incollaboration with sales, marketing, customer marketing, retail and ecommerce partners

  • Drive strategy on the evolution of Diageo product content and helps define landscape for beverage alcohol digital catalog shelf management

  • Build out insights related to consumer trends in digital and ecommerce through the collection and interpretation of the data

  • Coordinate with partners and retailers on the product catalogue including syndication, content and product portfolio imagery; Maintain the relationship with Diageo Canada’s digital shelf management agency GS1 including supplier performance and contract management

  • Assist retailers in development of their assortment strategy of Diageo products and start to build broader insights around the future of endless aisle and warehouse shipping in the future.

  • Collaborate with the Innovation and On Premise National Accounts teams to ensure innovation product details are available in the GS1 system so that national grocery accounts can list and launch these products as quickly as possible

  • Optimize details of Diageo’s existing product portfolio in GS1 so that Liquor Control Boards and third-party alcohol takeout and delivery applications can seamlessly integrate this information into their online platforms

  • Develop coordinated marketing plans across paid owned and earned media channels

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelors degree required

  • 3-5 years of experience in an omnichannel and e-commerce sales function within Consumer Packaged Goods Industry required

  • Healthy mix of performance and creative marketing skills

  • Office suite proficient including intermediate excel and strong PowerPoint skills

  • Prior involvement and proven advocacy in the digital and ecommerce space more broadly

  • Understanding of Nielsen, IRI and other syndicated data sources preferred

  • Knowledge base of eCommerce partners such as GS1, MikMak, UberEats, Skip the Dishes
