Linde Inc Sales & Use Tax Compliance Assistant in Tonawanda, New York

Job Overview: The Sales & Use Tax Compliance Assistant position requires a commitment to meet state-imposed deadlines which may at times require over-time. Must be able to balance multiple priorities. Primary Responsibilities: - Open all tax notices enter them into tracking spreadsheet, gather backup, and research issues. - Assist with assembling audit backup including calling customers for certificates, finding contracts, tracking down invoice copies. - Handle new registrations and name/address changes on registrations, particularly around LG& E acquisitions. - Enter all returns that must be uploaded via the state websites whether its via upload or manual entry. - Assist in Preparing indirect tax compliance including sales and use, excise, business, and other regulatory returns. - Ability to work in a fast paced, team dynamic environment - Other duties and projects, as assigned Qualifications: Required: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Data Analytics or equivalent experience - 0-3 years' experience in accounting/tax role - Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) - Strong Verbal and Written communication skills - Highly Organized Preferred: - Experience using Vertex O or Q or similar tax software - Experience with Vertex Returns or similar tax software - Knowledge of Vertex ECM or similar exemption certificate software - Experience working with large volumes of data including the use of pivot tables and Vlookups At Linde, we strive to create a work environment that treats all employees with respect, supports new thoughts and ideas, encourages growth and development, celebrates our differences, and embraces inclusion.
