About this role

BlackRock is currently seeking professionals at the Analyst level to become part of our Portfolio Compliance Monitoring team.

The Portfolio Compliance Group (PCG) is a global team which sits within Global Accounting and Product Services (GAAPS), one of the core functions within Technology & Operations at BlackRock. PCG is responsible for implementing controls and processes to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and portfolio guidelines. This relates to trading and investment guideline compliance, syndicate offering review, ERISA and Fiduciary monitoring, and Global Thresholds reporting.

The Monitoring Team is part of PCG and is responsible for investment guideline monitoring of both BlackRock investment funds and client mandates, Pre-trade and post-trade investment guideline exception investigation & resolution. They are working closely with portfolio management, trading, client business, legal, and other partners to ensure portfolio compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investment guideline monitoring and manual test execution

  • Pre-trade and post-trade violation investigation & resolution

  • Identification of investment guideline coding issues

  • Becoming acquainted with BlackRock’s various Aladdin applications, trade flow process, data environment and investment products

  • Investigating or troubleshooting potential errors when needed

  • Participating in efficiency and improvement initiatives by providing ideas and suggestions on possible improvements to systems or processes

Skills / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field, background in finance or similar fields are preferred (but not required).

  • Understanding of economic concepts, knowledge of financial instruments and markets is a bonus.

  • Comfortable working across multiple functions, geographies and partners

  • Drive, high energy and sense of urgency.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, understanding of relational database concepts (including SQL) are beneficial.

  • Business fluency in English and Japanese is required.
