Head of Marketing, Oracle Japan

You will be up to date with the latest marketing trends, so that you can identify and exploit the most effective channels and activities to market and target specific audiences in the various stages of the customer buying cycle.

This role will be based in Japan and will report into the VP Marketing, JAPAC.

In this role, you’d be encouraged to:

  • The person in this role will act as the marketing business partner with Japan sales management and leadership, understanding their needs as well as the company’s marketing strategy. Liaise with regional sales teams, marketing and business development teams to build the marketing plan for Japan, get their consensus and support of demand, lead and pipeline generation activities applying the most leading and up to date digital and modern marketing tools.

  • Strategically plan, handle and implement measurable, integrated modern marketing plans with a focus on demand generation, awareness and engagement. They provide mentorship on segmentation, market positioning, messaging, campaigns and differentiation into the marketing programs in order to optimally meet the needs of our audiences and market segment.

  • Be the driving force behind Japan Marketing in JAPAC, taking into account corporate strategic priorities and implementing marketing campaigns that deliver highly targeted, multi-channel touches across the customer lifecycle.

  • This person needs to be skilled in working across cross-functional teams to help formulate the Japan marketing strategy and to improve overall marketing performance. They will coordinate marketing inputs for key cross-functional objectives, capture business and market intelligence, synthesize customer insights, harness demand management methodology/output, to deliver a coordinated Japan marketing plan with clear investment prioritization. They need to use ongoing feedback from the leadership and shifting competitive landscape, to continue to refine and change execution plans to improve results.

  • Supervise analyse and report on performance of overall solution area, each campaign and communicate results and plan for improvement; check lead quality and sales follow-up, and action timely if required.

Be a coordinated member of the Oracle JAPAC Marketing team, working hand in hand with Field Marketing, Global campaign marketing, Digital, Advertising, AR, PR teams, as well as internal domain authorities to understand the customers’ challenges and aspirations

The ideal candidate should:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing or business management.

  • 10+ years of confirmed experience in coordinated marketing management, cloud/SAAS marketing, business user marketing.

  • Strong domain and market knowledge of B2B marketing & competitive Cloud landscape.

  • Good expertise in marketing across many different functional areas including at both a regional (JAPAC) and field marketing (Country) level, together with digital and field events.

  • Experienced in developing and driving coordinated modern marketing plans for IT companies based on business needs and with a deep understanding of audience generation strategies and segmentation for the complete buying cycle.

  • Excellent understanding of the sales teams needs and ability to translate business needs into successful marketing plans.

  • Strong focus on showcasing value and developing arguments for investments.

  • A thorough understanding of planning and market segmentation methodology.

  • Strong organisational and written/verbal communication skills; be able to prepare presentations and be comfortable speaking to groups; be comfortable with dealing with sales/executive management.

  • Collaborator Management: Ensure complete alignment with business collaborators. Act as marketing advisor to regional business leaders, global marketing, and content advisor to country marketing leaders.

  • Be comfortable using data and performance analysis, reporting, possess project planning and execution skills, with a strong sense of ownership and ability to multi-task, prioritize, anticipate possible obstacles and deliver viable solutions in a timely manner.

  • Have solid understanding of the various marketing fields especially modern marketing and digital marketing; detailed knowledge and practical working experience of a wide range of direct digital marketing channels from website, to search engine, to social media channels, to digital multi-touch and nurture campaigns.

  • Be ready to roll their sleeves up, have a can-do demeanor, and demonstrate resourcefulness and creativity in problem solving.

  • Self-motivated, results driven and team-work oriented.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement all field marketing activities within own business area to ensure achievement of short and long term business objectives, increased profit and market control. Contributes to the line-of-business and geography marketing strategy. Be an active member of the global Marketing team to ensure consistency of strategic marketing programs. Disseminate key corporate information to the line-of-business and geography operations pertaining to new product development/launches. Actively develop innovative approaches and opportunities for expanding company business base. Act as a liaison with senior management to ensure that marketing activities are in support of sales plans. Direct marketing resources and budget to be deployed using the most appropriate marketing mix for the line-of-business and/or the geography. Ensure consistency between global directions and line-of-business/single-geography implementation choices. Implement and supervise advertising campaigns on a line-of-business/geographical basis. Handle line-of-business/geographical social media strategy. Be an excellent partner with major suppliers, agencies, customers, industry associations and government representatives to achieve marketing objectives. Provide effective performance management: set clear goals for all staff, provide regular feedback on performance and conduct a formal appraisal at the conclusion of the fiscal year. Handle the activities of the staff according to overall marketing strategies and budgets. Implement organizational changes in line with changing business & market needs.
