Your role at Clorox:

The position leads implementation of Capital Project Management including engineering corporate standards & good practices, contributing both as an individual and as part of a regional team in delivering consumer products processing and infrastructure projects. It will participate on cross-functional business teams interacting with plant management team members, plant team members, vendors, customers, and other functions. The role requires regular travel up to 60-70%.

In this role, you will:

  • Provides cross-functional teams the technical knowledge and leadership required for the development and execution of capital projects to support manufacturing equipment installations essential to line extensions and product improvements. Assignments include the application of expert knowledge to improve project execution competitive performance in one or multiple countries.

  • Plans and leads medium to large sized local & regional projects/programs that include the integration of outside resources. Able to follow and champion the Capital Project Management process. Capable of following a disciplined process approach utilizing the One-Right-Way process to ensure vertical systems startups.

  • Provides solutions to a wide range of complex problems using in-depth manufacturing specific knowledge, combined with the application of engineering principles. Independently determines approach and specific solutions to technical problems. Widely used as a technical expert within Clorox. Significantly contributes to major technology efforts within the organization.

  • Evaluates and selects outside consultants used to supplement in-house staff in the specialist’s discipline. May serve as a work team leader for large/complex projects. Participates in the development and maintenance of corporate strategies and standards.

  • Support and lead project teams, Ops Services and World Class Operations initiatives.

  • Ability to coach and develop self and others in the course of completing work assignments.

  • Participate in and share information on technical seminars for Maintenance and Operations teams of all countries included in International division in order to stay up to date on current trends, changes, and technological advancements

  • Develop personal skills and mentor / train teams (Engineering, Maintenance, and Operational) on new techniques, etc.

  • Mentor, train, and develop direct and indirect reports

  • Key advocate for engineering innovation

  • Embrace and champion Capital Project Management One Right Way process

What we look for:

Experience Required

  • 8+ years of engineering experience

  • Experience with capital projects and capital budget process

  • 2+ years of experience in Operations, 2+ years in Staff Engineering, 2+ years of project work with exposure to new product development

Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, SAP, Autocad or equivalent, and utilization of Engineering Standards

  • Problem solving, data collection, and analysis skills

  • Planning and organizing skills to manage project priorities and coordinate other function activities

  • WCO / TPM / Lean Manufacturing processes and techniques

  • Proven skills to effectively document and communicate technical information to different organization levels

  • Background in consumer packaged goods environment

  • Understands Continuous Improvement Methodology

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

  • Planning and organizing skills to manage project priorities and coordinate other function activities and cross functional teams (i.e. – Electrical/Instrumentation/Controls, WCO, Quality, Capital Project Management, Safety/Health/Environmental, and Research and Development).

  • Experience in batch, continuous, and discrete manufacturing.

  • Strong project management skills including project cost control.

  • Engineering or operations experience with consumer packaged goods packaging equipment and systems preferred.
