Continental Development Engineer Metal Forming and Interface Technology in Timișoara, Romania

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and proactive new member for our R&D Advanced Development team in Contitech Timisoara.

In this role, you oversee the following tasks in the position of Metal Forming and Interface technology:

  • Development for metallic components from internal and external sources;

  • Development and refinement of new Products, new Processes and Guidelines to ensure technology leadership in metal components and products;

  • Active contributor for the release of Patents;

  • Constant progression of our specifications in order to improve product usage for our internal and external customers;

  • Transform product requirements into material requirements and specifications for internal and external suppliers;

  • Drive activities to standardize and establish master specifications;

  • Support analysis of field damage parts with focus on metal;

  • Follow and lead market on technical development;

  • Presentation of projects internally and externally;

  • Worldwide interface for R&D projects in the field of Metal Forming and Interface technology;

  • Active participation in project meetings and in interdisciplinary teams;

  • Close cooperation with our Tech Centers and plants for Metal Forming as well as our Testing Laboratories;

  • Concept evaluation by using design validation plans, FMEAs and risk analysis;

  • Interpretation of part and process simulation results.

We are looking for:

Must have:

  • Completed engineering degree in the field of mechanical engineering, material science, or similar;

  • Excellent analytical skills and solution-oriented, proactive way of working;

  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with internal and external stakeholders;

  • Business-fluent English language skills (written and spoken) and willingness to work in an international team;

  • Willingness to travel (10%);

  • Eagerness to get involved in hands-on work;

  • Ability to work independently and also in an international team.

Nice to have:

  • Professional experience in metal manufacturing, development, and/or material science;

  • Familiar with creative methods in the concept phase;

  • Project management skills.
