::: {align="left"} JOB DESCRIPTION :::

Machine parts to specifications following drawings, blueprints, work instructions and specifications. Set-up and operate Okuma (VMC) Vertical Machining Center to produce precision parts efficiently and effectively. Provide quality assurances of meeting company specifications. Other duties may be assigned. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

·         Ability to download, edit, run, and save new programs on the Okuma VMC to meet engineering drawing dimensions, tolerances, and specifications.

·         Setup and machine parts to specifications utilizing tombstones, vises, fixturing and custom setups.

·         Measure and examine completed parts for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gages, depth micrometers and other measurement tools.

·         Set up, adjust, and operate all tools and many specialized or custom tools to perform precision machining operations.

·         Study sample parts, drawings, and engineering information to determine methods and sequences of operations needed to manufacture products and determine product dimensions and tolerances.

·         Understanding of machining low carbon, alloy, tool steels and other materials related to speeds, feeds, and depths of cuts for selected tooling.

·         Confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information and maintain consistent communication related to schedules and work in process.

·         Ability to work in a team environment to achieve the best results and share best practices and information throughout the department and organization

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Shop environment
  • Steel-toed safety shoes and safety glasses required
  • Must be able to regularly lift loads of up to 50 pounds
  • Work can be strenuous, and includes walking, climbing, kneeling, crawling, squatting, and pulling (such as on torque wrenches) as well as standing for long periods of time

     

SCHEDULE

Standard 8-hour shifts, 150% paid anytime over 8 hours daily, hours over 45 in a week are paid as double time

 

Shift availability, standard schedules shown below

  • First Shift 7:00 AM -- 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday
  • Second Shift 3:30 PM -- 12:00 AM, Monday -- Friday + *Shift Premiums
  • Third Shift 11:00 PM -- 7:00 AM, Sunday -- Thursday + *Shift Premiums
