Description
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in The Woodlands with a growing project services company. In this role, you will be part of an innovative team in the infrastructure and community development industry. You will be instrumental in leading the financial aspects of the organization, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the month-end close process, including preparation and posting of journal entries.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and ensure their accuracy.
• Regularly review general ledger transactions for consistency.
• Prepare and present monthly financial reports.
• Conduct lease accounting and related entries and reconciliations.
• Evaluate internal controls, perform risk assessments and review risk areas.
• Compile and summarize data, prepare reports, and present findings and analyses to management as required.
• Assist in budget preparation and perform monthly budget variance analysis.
• Participate in the implementation of accounting systems initiatives.
• Support preparation of tax schedules, including 1065, franchise, and property tax.
• Carry out assigned financial planning and analysis projects.
• Review and post weekly labor and corresponding postings.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited four-year college or University.
5+ years of relevant experience, preferably within A& E/construction industry and ERP experience
Strong knowledge of GAAP and ASC 842 Lease guidance and ASC 606 Revenue recognition
Proficiency in accounting software (Deltek, Unanet is preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
Percentage of Completion revenue recognition experience
