Job Overview:
The Associate HSE Engineer is responsible for utilizing existing HSE Engineering procedures to solve routine or standard problems. They receive instruction, guidance, and direction from others within the team, and they will leverage their conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures related to HSE Engineering and Engineering.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Perform detailed design engineering, analysis and calculations on basic engineering tasks
Apply knowledge and skills to complete routine assignments under close supervision and mentoring
Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures
Organize own work to meet deadlines set by others
Clearly communicate information, asking questions and checking for understanding
Gain an understanding of the project scope of work, specifications, schedule and all inter-discipline
Prepare calculations, philosophies, specifications related to either safety, environmental or human factors matters
Develop loss preventions drawings, such as fire water layouts, fire and gas detection layouts
Contribute to MTOs for safety equipment requisitions
Keep the Lead Engineer apprised of all activities, progress and concerns
Develop an awareness of costs related to own work
Develop basic understanding of MDR's business and customers it serves
Develop basic knowledge of MDR's business units and interactions including engineering and fabrication
Develop advanced skills in use of standard productivity tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and PowerBi
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Eager to learn
Working knowledge of English, both oral and written
HSE, TQM and cost conscious
Show flexibility and ensure proper hand-over with regards to:
The reassignment to other departments, construction sites and fabrication yards
The replacement of colleagues during illness and holidays
The provision of assistance to other colleagues with heavy workload (also other projects) when possible/desirable
The managing/learning of future current working methods and software applications
Accredited engineering degree as may be required by specific regions
Is familiar with the use of codes and standards
