Under the direction of the Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO), the System Director, HR Operational Performance will direct strategic and operational initiatives across Union. The System Director, HR Operational Performance will collaborate with stakeholders to provide consultation, process design, and project management of HR program implementations and initiatives in compensation, benefits, performance management, co-worker relations and payroll processes. This position will facilitate and ensure successful operational activities through expertise, best practices, and data collection and analysis to deliver high quality services. Partnership and outcomes should be perceived as service-oriented, credible, outcomes-driven, innovative, user friendly and responsive. The System Director, HR Operational Performance will work closely and in coordination with the entire HR Team. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Union mission and values.

System Director, HR Operational Performance Details
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new co-workers in functional areas of Total Rewards and HR Operational Performance.
Continually identifies ways to enhance efficiencies and best practices for processes in HR operational areas.
Provides coaching and mentoring to staff for continued growth and performance.
Achieves and maintains strong engagement and a collaborative team.
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Helps develop and monitor budget needs; stewards resources appropriately.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Seeks out ways to elevate the success and impact of the HR Operational Performance, Payroll and Total Rewards team at Union Health.
Collaborates with leaders to assess areas of opportunities as well as determine short and long-term goals/strategies to facilitate maximum performance and potential in areas such as workforce planning, retention, co-worker relations, co-worker experience and performance management.
Utilize internal and external data to benchmark total rewards that align with Union Health’s strategic plan.
Ensure employment practices, salaries and benefits comply with FLSA, DOL and current legislation on the federal and state level. Recommends best practices and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Identify, develop, and implement services that are high value for co-workers and leaders to meet the strategic goals of the HR function as well as the diverse needs of Union Health departments.
Provide strategic insight through cultural assessments and root cause analysis using qualitative and quantitative data to improve work environment and operational performance for co-workers and leaders.
Conduct research and analyze data and benchmarks on total rewards and co-worker experience/engagement to meet generational differences in employment preferences.
Oversees hospital-wide compensation systems, monitors the criteria-based performance evaluation system to ensure the fair and equitable treatment of employees, and assists with the preparation of general range and market adjustments.
Serves as HR Operations lead supporting potential efforts related to acquisitions, divestitures, and mergers. Successfully collaborates within Union Health and with third party entities to provide a smooth transition for impacted co-workers, departments, and leaders.
Proactively identifies trends and potential issues. Ensures solutions are effectively vetted and integrated to help drive and implement change management.
Utilizes skill set and expertise to innovate and recommend solutions that move the organization forward and honors the mission of Union. Shares best practices within and across teams.
Demonstrates critical thinking to assess what needs to be done, when, and how.
Builds solution-oriented project or action plans that clearly identify needed actions, accountability, timelines for completion and measures of success.
Integrates policies, procedures, and HR expertise in advising and consulting others.
Plans, leads, develops, coordinates, and implements policies, processes, training, initiatives, and engagement surveys to support the organization's human resource compliance and strategy needs.
Leads creative thinking and application of HR operations and total rewards functions.
Works across HR teams in a way that supports teamwork, respect and collegiality.
Fosters an environment of innovation and provides new ideas and opportunities for HR Operational Performance and Total Rewards teams.
Champions change and remains agile to the needs of the team and organization.
Leverages technology to enhance the co-worker and leader experience.
Provides highest level of customer service to co-workers and leaders as it relates to human resources process and total rewards.
Ensures that solutions, collaboration and approach support and create diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and environment.
Compliant with all policies and procedures. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:
Master’s degree in human resource management or related field.
Minimum of 8 years of human resources experience.
Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including total rewards, payroll, compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM -SCP) preferred.
