Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, this position performs complex (journey-level) building maintenance and construction work and is responsible for the overall maintenance of the trail system as well as the park grounds and facilities including vehicles and equipment for Barton Warnock State Park. Provides visitor services, interpretive/guide programs, tours, revenue collection and public relations. Performs all phases of maintenance to include: campground maintenance and trash collection, minor repairs of boat ramps, roads, campsites, facility and grounds repairs, equipment, fences, water lines, mowing, plumbing, electrical, and daily preventative maintenance (cleaning/inspecting) of restroom and other visitor-facing facilities. Operates all types of equipment including hand and power tools, chainsaws, mowers, tractors and other heavy equipment. This position acts as the Staff Safety Officer (SSO) and is responsible for implementing the TPWD safety program at Barton Warnock Center. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures. Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Graduation from High School or GED. Experience: Three years facility, equipment or grounds maintenance experience. Licensure: Must possess or be able to obtain, within 30 days of employment, a valid state drivers license. ACCEPTABLE SUBSTITUTIONS: Experience: Thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university may substitute for one year of the required experience, with a maximum substitution of two years.
