Join our Operational Sourcing team as a Sr. Strategic Sourcing Program Manager, where you will support and lead the development and execution of short & long-term risk mitigation and capacity projects across Medtronic Operation Networks / Operating Units. You will engage with Operation Networks / Operating Units leadership to ensure the delivery of effective procurement strategies and standards that deliver Medtronic’s overall operations and business results.

This position can sit out of our Tempe, Northridge or Juncos site. Travel up to 25%.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Provides project management and sourcing expertise to cross-functional, cross-divisional commodity teams.

  • Facilitates these teams in the development and execution of long-term strategies that will optimize Medtronic's position in terms of quality, cycle/response time, technology, risk, and total cost.

  • Mitigates risk, leverages technology and purchase power, improves processes and systems, and reduces overall cost of ownership and acquisition.

  • Negotiates, establishes and monitors supplier agreements.

  • Manage executive level relationship with key suppliers that establishes a foundation of excellence and competitive advantage through strong strategic supplier relationships.

  • Actively engage and collaborate with internal stakeholders across Enterprise Operations and Operating Units to contribute to the effective management of supplier relationships and ensure the program is functioning in a consistent, repeatable, and risk-based manner across all risk dimensions.

  • Bring strategic and innovative thought leadership to key stakeholders to drive continuous collaboration, adoption, business performance improvement and value generation leverage throughout the relationship and contract life cycle.

  • Manage development and delivery of value from strategic supplier relationships to achieve goals and business requirement. End-to-end process.

  • Act as primarily point of contact for suppliers and manage effective governance around same.

  • Develop and implement supplier segmentation and strategic planning framework.

  • Monitor, measure, and analyze supplier performance and provide regular updates to senior management on supplier risk, performance, and relationship.

  • Partner with relevant stakeholders on negotiations for all managed supplier relationships.

  • Create closer, more collaborative relationships with key suppliers in order to uncover and realize new value and reduce risk.

  • Establish a platform for supplier best practices, joints process improvements / innovation.

  • Lead programs to turn supplier performance initiatives into repeatable and effective processes.

  • Supports Category Management teams with supplier management framework focusing on effective and efficient sustainable supplier risk management capabilities (segmentation, assessments, due diligence, remediation, ongoing monitoring, and off-boarding).

  • Executes Strategic Supplier Business Reviews (SBR’s) process focused on improving supplier performance and meeting business unit requirements.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience

Nice to Have

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following skills, experiences, and certifications:

  • Highly skilled in data analytics with a proven history of data-driven results

  • Engineering Degree

  • Highly skilled in developing and executing negotiation strategies with strong organization and collaboration skills

  • Skilled in developing category strategies, contract reviews, lean manufacturing, business case development, and utilizing e-commerce in a regulated environment (preferably the medical device industry).

  • Excellent knowledge and application of Excel and Analytics tools

  • Experience in forming and maintaining strategic alliances

  • CPIM certification

  • Experience in cross-functional commodity teams

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
