Program Summary

KBR Metrology supports Honeywell Aerospace, Otto Instruments, Garrett Advance Motion, and their suppliers with services including onsite/offsite laboratory visits, test equipment calibration and repair, AMS2750 pyrometry services, metrology engineering, and equipment inspection. They also offer preventative maintenance, equipment sourcing, CMM inspections, automation and programming, measurement technical support, calibration recall system management, and performance tracking dashboards.

Job Summary

Metrology Technician III will provide day to day support for the Metrology Program Calibrating IMTE and guiding workflow with other technicians as well as inspecting fixtures and tooling using CMM. Position will be on Swing shift 2:00 PM-10:30 PM

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Calibration of dimensional measuring equipment to NIST standards, including repairs and uncertainty analysis.

  • Installation and modification of equipment, development of automated procedures, and adherence to Quality Systems requirements.

  • Conducts troubleshooting, design modifications, and provides technical guidance to customers and operators.

  • Ensures safety compliance, collaborates effectively, and participates in process improvement initiatives.

  • Maintains records, evaluates test data, and serves as a lead resource for complex problem resolution.

  • May oversee lower-level employees, adapt procedures as needed, and provide activity reports to management.

  • Acts as the primary technical contact for assigned customer groups and performs other assigned duties.

Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

  • High school diploma with 6+ years experience in the field, OR Associates degree in engineering technology or other relevant field and 4 years experience. Formal military PMEL, TMDE or calibration school training with proof of attendance.

  • Technician will be inspecting fixtures and tooling using CMM.

  • Previous customer service experience is a plus

  • U.S. Citizenship Status required due to client requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • IndySoft, Fluke Met/Team, Fluke Met/Track and Met/Cal experience a plus+.

  • Proficient using Microsoft technology, including Excel

  • PMEL, TMDE or calibration school a plus+
