Job Description
Principal Software Developer
As a senior member of the team you would be given ownership of critical components that daily executes 100,000's of provisioning actions in a dynamic and reusable way. Our tooling meets customer needs by managing state of these resources and supporting upgrade patterns which can be complex and requires us to avoid breaking changes or destruction of resources. As we update our terraform service we need to consider our own scale, limitations and customer requirements. Our architectural patterns and decisions affect the whole Fusion Apps organization, their customers and 10,000's of clusters and related OCI resources. You would be responsible for all stages of the software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to coding, testing, CI/CD, and operational support.
Ideal candidates will have in-depth experience building, delivering, and operating cloud-native, highly available, distributed, and secure systems across multiple regions.
The team is primarily remote and spread across the US, India, and Europe. Communication is often asynchronous which requires high quality documentation, observability and ops practices. We encourage a strong sense of ownership for all team members and expect senior team members to be on the critical path.
Qualifications:
Experience with Golang, threading and workflow development
- Experience running production workloads at scale on Kubernetes
Experience with container-based deployment
Experience with cloud services (OCI, AWS, GCP, Azure)
Strong sense of ownership and intelligently prioritize
Ability to break down and problem solve complex problems
Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
Expertise in designing the applications following cloud native patterns
Experience with Terraform to create Cloud resources.
Understanding of Terraform provider framework is a plus.
Aptitude to evaluate, select and learn new languages and technologies
Basic understanding of networking, load balancing and intra-cluster communication
Understanding of the security aspects of development and commitment to quality code
Experience designing and using APIs
Experience with Unix-based environments
10+ years of experience in software development
Degree in Computer Science or related fields or equivalent experience
Career Level - IC4
Responsibilities
As a senior member of product development team you are expected to
Design and build cloud native products and solutions
Take ownership of a product area and drive from architecture to deployment
Guide a team of bright engineers in best practices
Establish strong product engineering practices in the team
