Job Description
Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Design Principal Professional - Gas Utility Pipeline to join our clients Energy team in Taylorsville, Utah. This role requires excellent oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to lead and inspire a team. The project work will be multi-disciplinary, focusing on utility pipelines, geotechnical aspects (including trenchless design), and civil engineering. The position offers a hybrid work schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management:
Effectively manage all phases of project delivery, including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, invoicing, and closing.
Work collaboratively with project support staff to monitor and control projects, ensuring financial target metrics are achieved.
- Client Relationships:
Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
Communicate technical information effectively to practitioners, clients, and laypersons.
- Team Leadership and Mentorship:
Mentor and coach project team members, providing constructive feedback on performance.
Execute projects to meet or exceed client expectations while adhering to industry standards of care.
- Regulatory Compliance and Safety:
- Follow and adhere to all federal and state regulations, client requirements, contracts, and company policies and procedures.
Promote and maintain the Kleinfelder culture of safety.

Skills and Requirements
Education and Certification:
- Required: Bachelor of Science Degree
Skills and Experience:
12+ years of related experience
Working understanding of pipeline standards and industry-accepted practices
Knowledge of Natural Gas and Hazardous Liquids systems, including engineering design and construction
Computer skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), AutoCAD 3D * Experience in planning, designing, and engineering natural gas pipelines (both distribution and transmission) is preferred.
Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) certification null
