+-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Must have the following to apply: | | | | - No minimum education required | | - Must have own tools. | | - 5 years directly related ship building/ship repair experience. | | - 3 years minimum supervisory experience within the ship repair or | | comparable industry. | | - Knowledge of marine-related equipment, ship repair techniques, | | sequencing of ship repair activities as well as shipyard safety | | practices. | | - Must be able to read simple blueprints and communicate the work | | scope to others. | | - The ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of | | measures, whole numbers, common fractions and decimals in US and | | metric conversion. | | - Ability to work in confined spaces as well as work above ground | | at heights of 50 feet or more. | | - Must be able to climb scaffolding or ride man lifts. | | - Knowledge an understanding of USCG and ABS rules and regulations. | | - Ability to coordinate multiple details related to various | | projects simultaneously. | | - Leadership, communication, and team-building skills. | | | | Preferred: | | | | - Bilingual is a plus. | | | | Required Screenings: No screening and testing required | | | | Job Description: As an Outside Machinist Foreman you help | | develop through training, productivity, and correction action if | | necessary as you are responsible for making your team accountable for | | the completion and accuracy of their work.
