Title and Summary

Director, Product Management, Debit, Digital and New Payment Flows - North America Small Business Segment Team

Overview:

The Director, Small Business Segment Product Manager, Debit, Digital and New Payment Flows will be part of the North American small business segment team which is responsible for advancing Mastercard small business efforts throughout the United States and Canada. They will play a critical role in defining and executing debit strategy, identifying new digital and beyond card capabilities, driving new payment flow opportunities, and executing our go-to-market strategy to commercialize new product innovations (e.g., scale new products, improve existing product penetration, manage partnerships, win new business). The Director will be responsible for identifying, developing and bringing to market solutions that meet the holistic needs of small businesses as well as our partners within the small business ecosystem focused on debit, beyond card functionality, new payment flows, and digital innovation. They will also work with cross-functional partners to help identify SMB use cases that will support the expansion of existing Mastercard products and platforms (e.g., Move, Send, Bill Pay, Cross-Border).

Role:

Debit:

o Drive the growth of the SMB debit portfolio through the development and execution of a Debit Product Strategy by providing Best-in-Class Debit Product expertise to ensure the ongoing relevance of Mastercard in Debit.

o Partner with the Consumer debit team to maximize synergies across both teams.

o Identify new Debit use cases and develop a Debit product and innovation roadmap that drives continued product relevance, differentiation and performance. This would include identifying synergies and strategies with existing Mastercard products (e.g., Send, Cross-border, Bill Pay) that could unlock additional debit usage, as well as new/future beyond card offerings.

o Drive overall debit portfolio performance through optimization efforts and close partnerships with the account management team.

o Demonstrate thought-leadership, product/technology development expertise and strong management skills in the integration of technology into new product and service solutions.

o Demonstrate depth of knowledge of Debit and the ecosystem in which it operates (e.g. regulatory, legal, technology, competitive environment). Apply this knowledge to the development of winning Product strategies.

o Create compelling external sales materials in partnership with internal partners (e.g., Solutions Architects).

o Partner with Key Account Teams, Customer Delivery and Marketing at senior levels to define and drive execution of go-to-market strategies for Maestro CNP, and lead the change in focus for Back Of Card (BOC) only customers to include Cyber & Intelligence and Data & Services value added services.

o Develop strategies and differentiation vs. regional processors (STAR, PULSE, etc.) to drive differentiated value for our merchants, consumers, and financial institutions.

o Provide account managers with thought leadership on debit and deposit accounts and quarterly business review content.

o Partner with business development teams on sales pursuits (e.g., RFPs).

Beyond Card / New Payment Flows:

o Define and implement new strategies with a focus on beyond card and new payments flows that will drive growth of small business market share and Mastercard revenue.

o Partner with other Mastercard product teams (e.g., Send, Bill Pay, Cross-Border) to ensure the inclusion of small business in their work and identify SMB use cases, build sales narratives, and support/drive business development activities.

o Product development and management of beyond card and new payment flow solutions focused on digital enablement and the integration of current and new Mastercard assets to enable small business owners.

o Partner with internal and external constituencies to identify, research, and analyze new payment flow and digital/technology-based products, services, and capabilities; solicit input for concepts, enhancements, and market intelligence.

o Engage and manage cross-functional teams through all phases of the product development process, and serve as a strategic liaison, facilitating ongoing communication and collaboration efforts.

o Provide regular updates to senior management on the group's, activities, results, and budget.

o Provide consultative sales leadership, especially during complex and cross-departmental sales discussions through the combination of deep functional skills, business payments acumen and a thorough understanding of Mastercard's assets, positioning the organization as the best solution partner for the customer.

o Manage the development of financial business case and ROI analysis for the owned projects.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
