Citigroup Business Risk and Control Senior Officer I (Finance Policy Manager) - C14/SVP - TAMPA in Tampa, Florida

The Business Risk and Control Sr Officer I is a strategic professional who closely follows latest trends in own field and adapts them for application within own job and the business. Typically, a small number of people within the business that provide the same level of expertise. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business. Necessitates a degree of responsibility over technical strategy. Primarily affects a sub-function.

This position will be part of Citi Finance’s Chief Operating Office - Controls global team and report to the Finance Policy Director.

The Finance Policy Manager is a senior member of the Finance Policy Management team, who's remit is to deliver robust governance over all Finance-owned internal policies, standards, and procedures (“Policy Documents”). The Finance Policy Manager will oversee partnerships with individuals across Finance to facilitate the development, issuance, and maintenance of Finance-owned Policy Documents. This role will drive the execution of governance, management, and oversight initiatives across the Finance Policy Document portfolio. Across the Policy Document lifecycle, the role is responsible for ensuring Finance's compliance with Corporate Policy Document requirements, including governance execution, approvals, publication, periodic reviews, adherence monitoring, and reporting processes. The role will liaise with the Corporate Policy Group to implement enterprise-wide content and drafting requirements and systemic enhancement adoption within both the Finance Policy Management Team's processes and across Finance. They will work both independently and in partnership with subject matter experts and other Policy Management teams across Citi. The Finance Policy Manager will provide subject matter expertise and guidance to Finance Policy Management Team members and to key stakeholders across Finance. In addition, the role supports overall Transformation objectives to help achieve a complete, comprehensive inventory of Policy Documents across the Finance organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development of new and revised Policy Documents through ongoing interactions with senior management and subject matter experts

  • Assess the applicability of Policy Documents and challenge the adequacy of key stakeholder socialization and review

  • Provide autonomous assessment and challenge to the content and structure of Policy Documents and offer strategic solutions

  • Ensure execution of Finance Policy Management Team procedural requirements, including quality assurance reviews and approval processes, for managed Policy Documents

  • Oversee the publication, revision and retirement of Policy Documents on the enterprise-wide platform

  • Analyze complex datasets to identify trends and risks

  • Validate the content, status, and completeness of Policy Documents periodic reviews

  • Collaborate with Owners as they maintain their Policy Documents to ensure they adequately address the risks for which they were created

  • Liaise with key stakeholders across various lines of defense to identify gaps in Policy Document coverage of risks, laws, rules, and regulations and propose strategic solutions

  • Drive the implementation of and adherence to Policy Document governance requirements

  • Participate in global Policy Document governance and management forums on behalf of Finance Policy Management

  • Participate in Transformation working groups on behalf of Finance Policy Management

  • Lead the execution of Transformation activities

  • Produce senior management reporting and status updates

  • Identify and implement strategic solutions to enhance Finance Policy Management governance, controls, communications and training

  • Potential responsibility for handling staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience, within the financial services industry highly preferred

  • Requires a comprehensive knowledge of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the goals of the function.

  • Superb communication and diplomacy skills in order to guide and influence others at all levels.

  • Experience and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment

  • Self-motivated with the ability to make decisions in the absence of detailed instructions.

  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills

  • In depth knowledge of banking products / systems or corporate finance highly preferred.

  • CPA preferred

$130,880.00 - $196,320.00
