Your Role:

As an Engineering Technician, you will be responsible for supplying technical assistant to the Polyethylene Technology (PET) Team and will help develop and commercialize new products and processes. You will have the opportunity to:

  • Drive a safe workplace by participating in safety committee meetings as an electrical subject matter expert.

  • Supply technical assistance to facility in order to maintain and improve overall operational efficiency.

  • Track equipment performance and adjust setups, calibrations, alignments and programming as needed.

  • Troubleshoot electrical and programming issues.

  • Institute new process automations such as adding sensors or new programming to perform a specific task.

  • Work closely with maintenance and production to drive improvement projects.

  • Suggest revisions for methods of operation, material handling, or equipment layout.

  • Interpret engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, and formulas.

  • Confer with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.

  • Recommend changes to production standards for achieving the best quality within the limits of equipment capacity.

  • Report any inconsistencies and use standard repair procedures.

  • Responsible for solving problems requiring more extensive knowledge and experience.

We need you to have:

  • AAS or trade school diploma

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Mechanical and Electrical troubleshooting skills

  • Ability to operate shop equipment and powered vehicles or capability to learn

  • Must be proficient in computer applications and possess good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be self-motivated, proactive and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.

  • Must have the ability to work flexible hours including weekends.

  • High level of attention to detail.

  • Critical thinking and analytical skills.

  • Communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Must have ability to take calls after hours and on weekends at least 1 week a month as part of our on-call rotation.

Icing on the cake:

  • Prior experience in the Consumer Product Goods industry
