Your Role and Responsibilities

Our Corporate Affairs team drives broad, cross-company reputation and positioning initiatives and brings together complimentary functions that shape perceptions of the company and speak to specific audiences: IBMers, top tier reporters, industry analysts, and current or potential clients.

IBMer Communications professionals create experiences that engage IBMers in our company strategy and help them understand how they contribute to our business and clients' success. Members of our Shared Services organization partner with communications, marketing and business professionals from all geographies and units to ensure we provide employees with the knowledge, information, and clear calls to action needed to work effectively and deliver business results, while also building their belief in and advocacy for the IBM brand. Within this role, professionals will be expected to:

  • Build strong, collaborative relationships across your team, function and company;

  • Understand our internal audience and what drives action when developing and executing strategies, messages, assets, and programs;

  • Develop an understanding of IBM's overall strategy and growth initiatives to ensure all content and programs help IBMers see themselves within our strategy and how they contribute to IBM's overall success;

We offer a dynamic blend of personal flexibility and a thriving in-office environment. This role requires three days of in-office presence per week, with three days for remote work.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills in English

  • Excitement to work on simultaneous high visibility projects

  • A self-starter who can work flexibly and adjust as needed

  • Strong writing and storytelling ability

  • Data driven mindset with a passion to figure out what is working and why

  • Curious learner who quickly develops an understanding of a wide range of subjects, and understands and applies feedback

  • Creative thinker who can develop and execute new, effective ways of communicating

  • Growth minded and willing to adjust ways of working and communication approaches based on current business needs and results

  • Collaborative team player who is enthusiastic about partnering across teams inside and outside of Marketing and Communications

  • Experience creating various media formats to complete a project - from long form writing to videos, podcasts, animations and visuals.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Experience with a creative communications role

  • Experience in various tools and approaches to communications - including digital publishing, design, video production, metrics and email tools

  • Innovative and proactive problem solver who enjoys complex projects that do not always have a clear answer
