SUNY Upstate Medical University Assistant to the Chair of Pharmacology in Syracuse, New York
Job Summary:
The Assistant to the Chair of Pharmacology provides executive-level support to the Chair, Faculty, Staff and Students of the Pharmacology department. The major roles are: the management and administration of Faculty, Staff and Student HR processes (including online F1 document preparation, liaison with HR and the College of Graduate Studies, onboarding, etc), administration of faculty tenure and promotion processes, scheduling, coordination and reimbursement of visits from external faculty candidates, speakers and visitors, monitoring and managing of department State, Research Foundation and Endowment accounts, and acting as liaison with the Dean's office and other institutional offices regarding the improvement and development of existing processes. Additional roles are to maintain efficient department operations, including addressing telephone and email inquiries, evaluating and preparing work/key/IT/telephone requests, organizing and setting up catering for departmental seminars and social events, and maintaining conference room schedules, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of responsible administrative experience required.
