About the Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated solutions-oriented self-starter with exceptional leadership skills, who can inspire the very best customer care and service execution within a team of professionals at Hyatt Regency Sydney.

As Director of Rooms, you will provide support and oversight for the entire Rooms Division, including Front Office, Group Operations, Housekeeping, Bell Desk, Regency Club Lounge and Concierge.

In this fast-paced role, you must ensure standards are met in line with Hyatt’s strategic priorities, whilst meeting colleague, guest, and owner expectations. You will ensure the delivery of a brand-led experience that is personalised to our guests' needs while maximising revenue and managing costs efficiently. You will be a dynamic and energetic leader, who focuses on developing and mentoring employees to be their best.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that each department is delivering a personalised experience for guests in accordance with the brand experience.

  • Work closely with department managers to ensure an efficient operation.

  • Monitor and actively influence cost management and revenue generation for each department.

  • Develop and mentor department managers.

  • Actively engage with employees throughout the division.

To be successful in this role, ideally you will have:

  • Previous international experience in a large 5-star hotel.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

  • Proven ability to handle emergency and crisis situations.

  • A relevant degree in Business or Hospitality.

  • Proven ability to improve and maintain Guest Satisfaction Score.

  • Sound working knowledge in systems including HotSOS, Birchstreet, and Opera PMS.

  • Strong experience managing large Inventory/Stock.

  • Experience managing Hygiene Certification requirements (including GBAC Star, HACCP, ISO 20000).

  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Full working rights in Australia.
