We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in the Local Government sector, situated in Surfside, Florida. As a Staff Accountant, your core duties will revolve around managing financial information and performing comprehensive accounting tasks. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity, providing a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.

• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks.

• Conduct the month-end close process for financial reporting.

• Maintain and update the general ledger regularly.

• Prepare journal entries as part of the accounting cycle.

• Utilize software like QuickBooks, Oracle, NetSuite, and SAP for financial management.

• Assist in the year-end closing of books.

• Prepare for and assist with financial audits.

• Employ Excel skills, particularly pivot table operations, for financial analysis.

• Engage in fiscal operations and planning.

Requirements • Applicant must possess a solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) processes.

• Proficiency in handling Accounts Receivable (AR) is required.

• Capability to perform Bank Reconciliations accurately is essential.

• A thorough understanding of General Ledger accounting is necessary.

• Applicant should be adept at creating and managing Journal Entries.

• Experience with Month End Close procedures is a must.

• Familiarity with NetSuite accounting software will be beneficial.

• Knowledge of Oracle financial systems is a plus.

• QuickBooks proficiency is a significant advantage.

• Working knowledge of SAP financial software is desirable.
