Uber Software Engineer II - Merchant Pricing in Sunnyvale, California
About the Role
The focus of the Merchant Pricing team in delivery marketplace is to ensure the best merchant selection for consumers, innovate on pricing models for merchants to effectively participate the marketplace to achieve their business objective with highest ROI while aligning the Uber's Delivery business by driving growth and profitability.
We are actively seeking individuals who excel in problem solving and critical thinking, are proficient in coding with proven track record of learning and growth, and prior experience in highly scalable distributed systems.
What the You Will Do
Strategic individual contributor to help coordinate the overall technical direction
Design, architect, and scale features and platform to improve demand shaping
Deliver ambiguous technical projects within the consumer pricing domain
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with multiple stakeholders (e.g. external third parties, designers, PMs) to accomplish work
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics, or related field
You have a proven record of engineering and coding skills. Ability to write high-performance production quality code. Experience in Java, Go, Python and other equivalent languages is a plus.
Experience in systems software engineering. Sound understanding of computer architecture and CS fundamentals.
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of experience delivering, scaling, and owning highly successful and innovative software products with your fingerprints all over them - you're extremely proud of what you've accomplished.
Previously worked in pricing domain and basic knowledge of machine learning or Optimization
You have experience building distributed systems at scale

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$158,000 per year - USD$175,500 per year. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$158,000 per year - USD$175,500 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
