Job Title: Pastry Cook
Job Description
As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for producing a variety of both sweet and savory pastries and desserts including cupcakes, cakes, pies, torts, flans, custards, granolas, cookies, pate a choux, cheesecakes, bars, and vegan desserts. Your tasks will include ensuring all items are baked keeping quality and production goals in mind, mixing and measuring according to recipe guidelines, and handling ingredients from start to finish, including plating and presentation. Collaboration is key in our kitchen, and you will have opportunities to work together on menus and recipe rotations. You will maintain a clean and organized workspace, follow all safety and sanitation procedures, and provide exceptional customer service, accommodating all requests and special needs for guests.
Hard Skills
Pastry Chef - at least 1 year of experience
Baker - at least 1 year of experience
Soft Skills
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
Excellent customer service abilities

Work Environment
You will be working in a fast-paced kitchen environment located at a café onsite at a major company's Sunnyvale HQ. The work environment features a high sense of urgency, moderate to high noise levels, exposure to cleaning solutions, slippery/uneven surfaces, and temperature variations moving between cold and normal kitchen environments, as well as occasional smoke, steam, and heat in confined spaces.
