Job Description Summary

Responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing production processes to ensure the highest standards of safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC). The role involves analyzing current production processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, facilities and quality team, to ensure that all processes meet regulatory, approved technical manual and company standards.

Site Overview:

GE Aerospace Engine Services Malaysia (GEESM) in Subang plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and performance of aviation fleets every day. Established in 1997 as a Center of Excellence for CFM56 and LEAP engines, GEESM has grown into a key hub of our global operations. It now services commercial aircraft engines, components, and accessories.

Role Overview:

  • Analyze and identify root causes of defects in engine disassembly & assembly processes.

  • Develop and implement corrective actions to rectify defects and prevent recurrence.

  • Collaborate with quality and production teams to ensure timely and effective resolution of defects.

  • Maintain detailed documentation of defect analysis, corrective actions, and outcomes.

  • Resolves issues using established procedures. Consults OEM or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.

  • Collaborates with others to solve issues.

  • Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.

  • Required to go on night shift roster for a full week. (Only 2-3 times in a year)

  • Required to support new shop (Sepang).

The Ideal Candidate:

  • The ideal candidate for this role is an adaptable and creative engineer with at least 3 years of experience in the aerospace industry. They should possess strong analytical skills to effectively identify and resolve engine defects during disassembly and assembly processes. The candidate must collaborate well with quality and production teams, maintaining comprehensive documentation, willing to occasionally work night shifts and support new shop setups.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering/Operations Management or other related technical fields.

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Engineering (within the aerospace industry is preferred).

  • Computer literacy is essential to the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken, and the ability to interact at all levels, including leadership, regulatory representatives, and customer representatives.

  • Able to assimilate information quickly and make fact-based decisions. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Ability to document, plan, and execute programs. Established project management skills.

  • Able to provide technical and quality guidance to Quality team members.

  • Able to work independently and flexibly with minimum supervision.
