Aston Carter Accounts Payable Specialist in Stockton, California

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for managing accounts receivable and accounts payable functions across one or more locations of the enterprise.

  • Billing/invoicing and payment activities (for accounts receivable) or payment processing and vendor management (for accounts payable)

  • Enter invoices including branch overhead, subcontracts, and purchase orders.

  • Sort, code, scan, upload, file and maintain proper A/P records.

  • Resolve purchase order, contract, invoice, and payment discrepancies/documentation.

  • Maintain accounting A/P ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.

  • Manage release of payment to branch specific subcontractors through proper documentation.

  • Distribute monthly A/R contract billing packets.

  • Complete monthly progress and retention contract billings; generate customer invoices. Execute change orders.

  • Track and resolve outstanding customer payment issues.

  • Input and reconcile of job estimates.

Qualifications:

  • Associates degree with an emphasis in Accounting or related field

  • Minimum of 2 years related accounting experience

  • Experience working in the construction industry

  • Proficient in using accounting software to process transactions, generate reports, and reconcile accounts

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel to analyze data, create reports, and perform complex calculations related to accounts receivable aging, collections, and payment processing.

  • Experience with data and financial analysis

  • Familiarity with invoicing systems and experience with processing payments
