The Molecular Lab Supervisor is responsible for oversight and management of daily activities in the molecular section of the Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (OADDL). This position will assist the Molecular Lab Manager (lab manager) in the supervision, training and proficiency of 1-3 Sr Lab Techs and will work closely with them and the lab manager to perform and complete daily diagnostic PCR testing, develop new diagnostic tests, and ensure quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA).
Occasional unpleasant odors from animal issues and diagnostic specimens. Ability to operate in fast-paced, high-throughput environment with repetitive pipetting tasks. Occasional holiday and weekend work.
Handling of chemicals, handling of animal tissues, biological/zoonotic agents (including but not limited to viral and bacterial, fungal, and protozoal organisms), and use of electrical equipment.
Rabies immunization is required and will be provided.
