People are at the heart of what we do We are seeking a passionate and experienced Music Director to lead our vibrant music ministry and inspire our congregation through music! The part-time Music Director plays a vital role in enriching our worship services and fostering a love for music within our Methodist community. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our church music program, from planning and leading worship music to directing choirs and ensembles. What You\'ll Do: Collaborate with the Pastor to plan and select music that aligns with the liturgical calendar and thematic focus of worship services. Prepare music for worship and special events including the adult choir and special music events. Supervise, coordinate, organize music staff and manage volunteers involved in music ministry. Select and purchase music within budget, ensuring it is appropriate for the congregation\'s skill level and reflects the Methodist tradition. Oversee the care and maintenance of musical instruments. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on music trends and best practices in church music ministry. Represent the music ministry on church committees and boards. Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all who participate in the music program. What You\'ll Bring: Strong faith commitment and a passion for using music to enrich worship experiences. Bachelor\'s degree in Music or equivalent experience in church music ministry. Proven experience leading choirs and ensembles. Excellent musicianship with proficiency in piano, organ, or another liturgical instrument preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively plan, organize, and delegate tasks. Familiarity with a variety worship practice is a plus.
