Actalent Software Engineer in Sterling Heights, Michigan
Job Title: Software EngineerJob Description
We are seeking a Software Engineer to work on an existing military vehicle platform, Modular Active Protective Systems (MAPS), by developing software following organizational standard software processes. The role involves collaborating with government customers to develop software requirements, design software based on existing architectures, and integrate and test software post-development.
Responsibilities
Develop software for the Modular Active Protective Systems (MAPS) platform.
Collaborate with government customers to define and develop software requirements.
Design software following predefined architectures.
Integrate and test software after development.
Identify key areas of improvement within the software integration process with the government customer.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 4 years of experience in C++ development.
Experience with developing in Linux environments.
Knowledge of software repositories, including Git.
Understanding of SELinux, bash scripting, Ethernet, and partitioning.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Understanding of the software development lifecycle, with a focus on both front-end and back-end development.
Experience in project management, including communicating project status updates.
Experience in defining, modifying, and providing input on software requirements.
Work Environment
The role involves a mixture of working from a home office and at the Detroit Arsenal, with direct daily interaction with government customers. Employees benefit from an Employee Stock Ownership Program, great benefits, and flexible work schedules if needed.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $57.69/hr.
