Virginia Department of Corrections Tractor Trailer Driver in State Farm, Virginia
his is a wage position limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12-month period of May 1 - April 30, regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year. All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This wage position offers no state benefits.
This position is based out of State Farm Work Center. We are looking for a transportation operator to transport food products, meat, raw and processed milk, commodities and equipment in a safe and timely manner. Ensure prompt and accurate delivery of milk and other food products while maintaining inmate custody and public safety. Provide support to Agribusiness farming/crop operations on an as needed/seasonal basis.
The VADOC Agribusiness Unit is charged with providing agricultural training opportunities to inmates in an effort to enhance re-entry and reduce recidivism, while reducing food cost for VADOC.
