Omnicell Sr. Commodity Manager in St Petersburg, Florida

The job function of the Sr Global Commodity Manager Indirect is to be the primary point of contact between Omnicell and our indirect suppliers, service providers, and internal cross-functional stakeholders. The Commodity Manager is responsible for the development of the commodity strategy, planning and coordination of all aspects of the relationship with assigned suppliers and service providers. Additionally, the Commodity Manager is the go-to Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all 3 rd party service agreements used throughout Omnicell

This position is a remote position with a preference for candidates based near an Omnicell hub.

Essential Functions:

In order to work effectively as a Sr Global Commodity Manager Indirect , the position is expected to:

  • Reporting to Global Procurement organization, the Commodity Manager works directly with assigned suppliers, Consultants and Service Providers to address continuous improvements within in the areas of quality, cost, inventory, delivery and support. The Commodity Manager will serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert with assigned suppliers, managing the overall supplier relationship and value chain.

  • Scope: A ccountability forConsulting Services, IT, HR, Fleet, Marketing and Facilities MRO with support across Omnicell’s global Indirect network where applicable. Annual Spend: $80M+. Technical Complexity – Low.

  • Commodity: Maintain knowledge of global market trends including analysis of market drivers, cost structures, technical improvements, new products, best practices, benchmarks and end-of-life plans for the respective commodity assigned.

  • Consulting: Good knowledge of Industry consulting services, Cloud services, on shore / offshore licensing services and rates.

  • Contracts: Leads supply chain contract development and negotiation with suppliers, service providers and consulting services. Acts as the primary point of contact with assigned suppliers, responsible for ensuring that all issues are resolved in a timely manner. Ensures compliance with all Licensing Agreements as well as all contractual Terms and Conditions.

  • Sourcing: Identify new sources of supply, evaluate new suppliers / service providers, perform pre-assessments, and complete any follow-up activities required for supplier qualification to develop a supplier base sufficiently robust to meet the defined business requirements (acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery, recycling, reuse, or final disposal of resources).

  • Supply Base: Uses inputs from internal Product Marketing, Engineering, IT, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Service, Legal, Reverse Logistics and Business leaders to develop and implement a commodity strategy to identify long term supply/supplier alignment. Ensure a competitive sourcing environment leading to continuous improvement in quality, cost, inventory, service and technology among our supplier base. Develop, Enhance and Cultivate appropriate internal collaborative relationships built on defined cross-functional business objectives as required

  • Service: In conjunction with Omnicell’s Service Operations, incorporate needs into global negotiations. Partners with the Service team in executing the service strategy. Can include stocking plans and negotiation with supplier for vendor-held inventory.

  • Performance: Establish standard processes to collect and monitor supplier performance, quality, cost, inventory and work with appropriate parties to ensure contract compliance, accountability and resolve any related issues. Generates supplier scorecard metrics and initiate Quarterly Business Review (QDCS) agenda items.

  • Direct Production Support: May also be required to support direct production requirements in various mechanical, system and electro-mechanical commodities as requirements arise.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • 7+ years supply chain experience in Indirect Sourcing covering Consulting Services, IT, HR, Fleet, Marketing and/or Facilities MRO at a senior level

  • Proven knowledge of 3 rd Party Consulting Services Management, Contract Negotiations and Compliance

  • Demonstrated strong capability to drive change via collaboration across organizational levels, regional and global geographies and business entities

  • Solid understanding of current software, computer hardware and Consulting trends, markets, and price indexing, with in-depth knowledge of Domestic and International suppliers

  • Strong leadership and communication skills that enable a strong Supplier Relationship Management process

  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS)

  • ERP/MRP knowledge, preferably SAP

  • BS/BA in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Materials Management, Engineering or Technical Studies (or 5+ years directly related experience)

  • Experience working in highly matrixed organization and delivering results

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • MBA

  • APICS or CPM

  • Minimum 7+years of Indirect Supply Chain (Engineering, Human Resource, Marketing, Facilities, etc.) and/or Software Contracting experience

  • Strong presentation preparation and presentation skills

Work Conditions:

  • Remote working capability

  • Medium travel (<15%, includes international)

  • Extended or irregular work hours
