POSITION SUMARY:

The Operations Department is currently seeking candidates for the position of Shift Foreman. The Operations Shift Foreman is the on-shift crew leader. The Shift Foreman delivers Operating Excellence by creating a committed ownership culture, setting clear expectation, and holding people accountable. The position is responsible for delivering the production plan while ensuring a safe, compliant, reliable, and profitable operation on shift. The Shift Foreman reports to the area Day Foreman.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be the on-shift operations leaders for an operating crew in an assigned area. Lead and inspire the operating crew to delivery exceptional performance in safety, compliance, reliability and optimization.

  • Responsible for providing safety leadership to ensure operations tasks and activities are performed safely and within operating limits.

  • Manage the assigned facilities to process the required feed to meet the production plan in the safest, environmentally sound, reliable and profitable manner.

  • Ensure operators understand and follow all SP&P and Operations procedures. Promote safe work practices by conducting safety meetings, upgrading operating procedures, participating in safety audits and investigations and enforcing compliance with safety rules and regulations.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve operation and/or system problems which negatively impact the operation of the units.

  • Promote environmental stewardship through the execution of proper operating procedures and guidelines to be utilized by operators and then reinforcing the use of these procedures.

  • Supervise and provide training to the unit operators on environmental requirements, reliability and operating practices and procedures to contribute to optimum and safe unit operation.

  • Coach and mentor operators to create and sustain a high-performance operating team.

  • Collaborate and respect operating personnel by listening to opinions and providing feedback.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required

  • 3+ years refining industry experience required (5+ years preferred)

  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 3 years refining, chemical or petrochemical industry experience required.
