This position is responsible for directing the administrative, financial, clinical and logistical operations of the Department of Corrections Health and Programming Services unit so that all incarcerated adults and juveniles are provided with a constitutional level of care, treatment and programming. This includes managing and directing all aspects of the Departments health care delivery system including medical, dental, behavioral health (MH, SUD, SO & Release Planning), and case management and programming services. The position also represents the agency on health care issues to the legislature, other state agencies, county jails and local law enforcement and private entities. In addition, this position provides strategic planning for the department in the areas of incarcerated person medical and behavioral health service delivery, specialized release planning, case management, agency and volunteer provided programming and recommends and implements related policy.
Minimum Qualifications
Four (4) years of progressively responsible management and supervisory experience that includes:
Proven leadership experience in healthcare management
Extensive knowledge of health care systems, including medical, dental, behavioral health, and case management services.
Experience managing large budgets, resources, and multidisciplinary teams.
Strong understanding of state and federal healthcare regulations.
Ability to negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships.
Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex operational and security challenges in a correctional setting.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience with policy development.
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Psychology, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience in corrections health services or public health administration.
Experience working in a correctional setting.
Demonstrated knowledge of issues facing health care and programming in corrections.
Physical Requirements

Additional Requirements

Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation.
