General Summary:

The Director, Commercial & Business Management is a multi - faceted role that will deliver a key leadership function across the ANZ Networks business , ensuring organisation success . Core to the role is developmen t, continued evolution and delivery of a business-wide strategic plan . The position wil l also be responsible for identifying , evaluating and managing local market partnership opportunities, and supporting regional and global teams with affiliate and other partner deals . In addition, the Commercial & Business Management function will support ANZ Content through effective budget management and leveraging of incremental content funding from commercial and non-commercial source s .

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a business-wise plan that captures all key themes, initiatives and deliverables , ensuring clear KPIs that link to broader WBD strategy are established

  • Work collaboratively to l ead the implementation and evolution of the business plan and make sure targets are met

  • Play an active role in the ongoing management of the ANZ Networks P&L - acting as the key interface between the business plan and the financial plan - working with Finance p artners in particular to drive bottom line results

  • Support regional and global strategy and business development teams with affiliate and other partnerships , including involvement in deal negotiation and acting as the key local point of contact as required

  • Ensure affiliate s and partner s receive high levels of customer satisfaction whilst maximising financial outcomes for WBD

  • Lead the identification, development and implementation of new local partnerships with traditional players and non-traditional partners across all platforms and elements of ANZ Networks ( eg. Stuff)

  • Work with the broader ANZ Content team to plan content strategy across the portfolio of channels and platforms, with a focus on optimi s ing overall content funding and associated content investment ROI from all sources and leveraging available budget to best contribute to strategic goals and hard targets

  • Establish and m aintain strong networks with all relevant internal teams and external organisations as appropriate , to support all elements of the role including content strategy and funding across the breadth of the portfolio

  • Own the internal content approval process ( eg. PIC, finance sign-off, broader approvals as needed)

  • Liaise with finance on content budgets, affiliate commercials and deal case business plans as required

  • Contribut e creative and strategic thinking on projects and to challenge status-quo

  • Cultivat e and maintain excellent business relationships with local and global teams to foster a growth mindset

Qualities Required:

  • Dynamic personality, adaptable, a high degree of professionalism

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and working in a fast-paced environment

  • A collaborator, who enjoys working in a team and has the confidence to work with international colleagues across different markets and time-zones

  • Independent thinker with a strategic mindset. Able to think creatively, highly driven and self motivated

  • Brings and/or establishes instant credibility with peers and third parties based on career history and personal qualities; ability to hold their own with the wide range of players in this area from advertising agencies and commercial partners to content funding bodies and the production community

  • Strong presentation skills, able readily and easily to address a diverse range of audiences including internal colleagues and external partners

  • A good regional network and an ability to build networks inside organisations ; collaborative, influential approach to problem solving; able to work readily and easily with many different personalities and nationalities in a highly matrixed and international structure

  • U nderstanding of business planning methodologies with experience in developing relevant plans that deliver to strategies and targets

  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and exceptional relationship management ability

  • Significant financial management experience, including the ability to develop and manage tools that accurately record multiple cost bases, and capability in business case construction – ideally with experience of this in a content based environment

  • Strong knowledge of the ANZ advertising market, programme funding structures and content platforms

  • Highly skilled in understanding partner objectives and translating these to outcomes that deliver to propositions across linear and non-linear platforms
